What are head and neck tumors?

Tumors of the head and neck can be benign or malignant.  Benign tumors do not spread to other parts of the body, however they can cause local deformities and destruction.  Malignant tumors can cause similar effects but are often more locally destructive and can spread to other parts of the body (metastasis).
